A Guide to Alicante, Alicante
- Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. Mark Twain
Absolute Alicante - Absolute Pleasure
Much like Monte Benacantil climbing into Alicante's sunny skies, Alicante is a pillar of Spanish culture on the Costa Blanca. Although an incredibly cosmopolitan city, its culture and feel has not been altered or catered to suit foreign tourism. You don't come to Alicante to live an English life in Spain, you come to live a Spanish life in all its glory.
Yes, its airport greets 2.6 million Brits a year, but most head straight from the runway to their expat enclaves dotting the coast to the north and south of Alicante. What most of them don't realise is that Alicante is buzzing with energy and new projects... it's actually a city many Spaniards choose to vacation in.
From atop Castillo de Santa Bárbara in town centre you can see everything that this modern Spanish city has to offer. Look east and see brilliant blue water lapping on white beaches and a horizon dotted with billowing sails. Look south and witness people smiling in the shade of El Barrio's historic buildings while sipping drinks from their streetside seats, and women toting massive shopping bags along Calle de Gerona. Look north and spot MARQ, an ultra modern museum in an historic skin. And to the West? You'll see a gorgeous sun setting on all that is Alicante.
If a Spanish life and 300 days of sun a year sounds heavenly to you, or if you rightly realise Alicante is ripe for an investment opportunity, peruse our featured properties.
